ABOUT REBECCA

Rebecca Block has a passion for and background in health promotion, mental health, and education, and is dedicated to providing tools and practices to others to help them find within themselves the ability to self-regulate and build resilience.

 

She believes that health includes both the brain and body and that yoga is a way of life. Her teaching style incorporates a mix of Hatha, Vinyasa and Restorative modalities, inspiration from yoga history and philosophies, pranayama, as well as social-emotional learning and mindfulness. She will lead you to your inner teacher and wisdom with yoga tools, connection, embodiment, and the breath, that you can utilize both on and off the mat. Rebecca's mission as a teacher is to meet all students where they are at, providing modifications whenever possible, as well as being culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and inclusive, so each student can feel comfortable to come as they are.

 

She recently just graduated with a Masters of Science in Community Health Education at Teachers College Columbia University and became a Certified Health Education Specialist. She has 10+ years of personal yoga practice, preliminary MBSR training, 200 RYT and Wellness Champion certifications, as well as previous experience teaching social-emotional learning to school-aged children, meditation and health education to college students, and comprehensive workplace wellness.
